Home page randomly redirects to another page

    I have a blog, hosted on my own domain which has been working fine for awhile now (almost two years now).

    I was creating a new page as an register page for adding members. This is done through Buddypress plugin.

    But now my homepage (which was previously my latest posts) is forwarding to this new subscribe page instead of showing my posts. My database is intact since all my posts are available if i go to the urls directly. I checked my .htaccess file which looks fine (I don’t really know how to use them, but I’ve seen them before and it looks fine). I tried undoing everything, including deleting the page but that gives a 404 error.

    I don’t understand how, its not that easy to randomly forward your homepage… at least not in my knowledge. It also only happens for select users. Any help or ideas appreciated.

    P.S.: I have everything updated to the latest including plugins…

    @hoiszelam If you go to your new “Register Page” while you’re still logged in, you will be redirected to the home page by default. Log out first before viewing the register page.

    As to why your new home page suddenly because the new subscribe page, I only know that BuddyPress did not cause that. BuddyPress support is provided at https://buddypress.org/support/ Log in using your WP username and password.

    Thanks @mercime for this followup, I managed to get the issue solved through the Google Webmaster forum after all – it was Google Analytics content experiments that was causing the issue.

    @hoiszelam Thank you for posting back and adding how you resolved the issue. Good to have reference to an issue which has not be reported before in the BuddyPress forums ??
