For my home page blog wanted to remove “page 1 of 500” from title template so I changed parameter %%page%% to parameter %%pagenumber%% ; however now the page number “1” is appearing at the end of the title template for the homepage blog. I do not want that I only want the page number to appear on the following pages but not the home page. Help.

    Hi @rotcorp,

The %%page%% variable is the one which does not show any number for the homepage. Please set the variables to %%page%% again and let us know if the number is still being shown for the homepage.

We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.

Unfortunately, this is the default set-up of the variables used for the title and meta description templates. You can check out all of the available variables here — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/

You may want to consider using custom variables, or implementing filters or developer code to get the variables to display the information to your liking.
