Interesting. So when you show it on the blog page (in your case, the blog page is your main page) you want the ability to:
    a) show only the newest (top) post
    b) do not display on the blog page
    another option might be:
    c) show all attachments to all posts currently being displayed on the blog page

If you simply do not want the widget to display at all on the blog page–option b), this could be accomplished by registering a new sidebar to be used only by the blog page. Here is a pretty straightforward step-by-step guide on setting that up: https://www.tastyplacement.com/add-sidebar-wordpress

The other options will have to be added to the next release. Be sure, we will look into it… and thank you for the feedback.

Please update to version 1.9. This version will only display the attachments of the first post when the sidebar widget is used on the Blog page. Let us know if it works for you.

I upgraded the plug-in to version 1.9 removed the old widget and placed the new one back into the sidebar with the following settings:

    Title: Related Downloads
    Count: -1
    Attachment Mime/Type: application
    Order By: date
    Order Direction: DESC
    Display: title
    Target: blank

It now doesn’t show on the blog’s main page (home page) which is great.

We’ll continue to see if all else goes well with the plug-in, but after the initial review, that was a great response time, and I appreciate your willingness to address it.

Thanks for the feedback. On the Blog Page (home page for you) the plugin will show related attachments for the first post, as it is doing on your home page.

We aim to provide responsive support for all our plugins–especially when helpful users such as yourself report buggy, or unintended behavior.

    Happy campers all around!
