• i changed the permalinks which screwed up so many things so i changed them back to default, but it changed the home page slug from thesilvertongueonline.com to
    https://thesilvertongueonline.com/atlantas-best/

It does direct to the home page, but i need to remove the atlantas-best part. does anyone know how i can change this back. I already recreated the .htaccess file and it didn’t work.

  • Cheack the settings in ‘Settings -> Reading’ and make sure that both the Front page and the Posts page are set as you would like (if you have chosen that setup)

Also, what permalink structure are you using? As the default structure would show ‘?p=123’ (for example) rather than ‘atlantas-best’ – that seems to be using the /%postname%/ structure.

Actually there seems to be a combination of default and custom. You don’t (by accident) change the site url?

In fact, scrap the second paragraph above, I’ve just had a look on your site. Check ‘Settings -> Genersal’ and make sure that both your ‘WordPress address (URL)’ and your ‘Site address (URL)’ are correct, and do not contain the aforementioned slug.

    You’re too quick for me!

neither one of them contain the slug. I can’t find where that slug is at all. I’ve checked everywhere.
