home page won't load with Twenty Fourteen theme

Are you using a static front page?

Re-upload a fresh, unpacked, copy of the Twenty Fourteen folder to wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

I have already deleted and reloaded it, but that didn’t help. I was able to get Twenty Eleven to work, but not Twenty Fourteen.

thought I didn’t download it myself. Do you think the web hosting company’s version might be corrupted?

It’s possible that your copy of the 2014 theme has been damaged, yes.

Just tried. Still the same problem. The home page is just a white screen.

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

they did some work but weren’t able to figure it out.

What error messages were in the logs?
