home page wont show on nav bar but random page will

    i have a home page on the nav but when i try to link it to be the first page that is seen when you get onto the site (setting > reading>), it goes to a random page that shows no content and two right sidebars.

    why would that happen?

    i have tried different ways to do it, but once i go into settings> reading to set the landing page, the page disaapears from the nav bar.

    any ideas?

    update – i went through and deleted the menu so now that random page doesn’t show up on the nav bar.

    however, i still can’t get:
    1. home page link to show on nav bar and
    2. have the site open to the home page and not the blank page it opens to now..

    anyone have a sec to look at this and see what i’m not seeing?

    would appreciate it!
