Home Page won’t update

    Hi, been using for wordpress for many years, never had such strange problem.

    Homepage- front page won’t update with old site, and set up a new website, same problem.

    Set up wordpress site.

    uploaded theme fine, set up few blog pages are went well, checked all the pages working fine.

    So changing the hello world page to home page and set homepage as static front page.

    But homepage won’t update the change.

    Caching plugin disabled
    in quick edit, changed home to home old and direct front page to new created home page, but still does not update. But homepage old shows correct theme and info

    website: You can see three stages of change and update –
    1: Current frontpage doesn’t exist

    3: and correct format with current theme

    Also when I logged in and edit page, front page displayed correctly. But if I view homepage without in Edit, then it goes back to old page.
    so strange. Any ideas?

    It’s not Avada issue. Have been try with many different type of theme, Avada certainly is easiest to use even for someone have no coding experience.

    But I started with a different theme this time, a fresh start of newly installed wordpress, it had this problem as soon I start edit my pages.

    SO I then installed Avada. as I understand this theme better.

    While you may have disabled your caching plugin, your browser may still be hanging on to a cached copy of your old homepage.

    See if this works

    This same issue happened with another website has no caching plugin at the time. So I am trying to start fresh.

    It worked for many years without this problem, and one day, this problem come out nowhere.

    Every other pages works fine except homepage.

    Also no matter what theme I chose, it won’t update homepage style as well.

    no matter what type of reading setting, Static homepage or latest post, does not change a thing.

    Tested from another diverse never accessed this website, also does not solve the problem.

    I see X-Proxy-Cache in your response headers.

    This may be an indication of server-based caching (Beyond WordPress)

    This will still serve cached pages even if you don’t have any caching plugins.

    The cache for your homepage has this expiration date:

    Fri, 03 Feb 2017 14:13:44 GMT

    Talk to your hosting provider about purging the proxy-cache

    Or you can try plugins like this one:

    NGIX Helper

    I have not tried any of them So I can’t say anything about whether or not it will work.

    Thanks for your response. Since I don’t see other people post same issue here, so I guesses would be server related not wordpress site. But couldn’t find proof after few online chat with my hosting company.

    I will try to chat with them again and maybe give that plugin a try.

    Note: I just tried nginx-helper plugin, that did not help as well.

    Thanks. Just confirmed with hosting company – it’s server caching problem indeed.
