    Hi,

I’m using Vega theme and just love it! Thank you very much.

I installed wpml blog -plugin to make the site bilingual. Everything has been working like a charm, I translated all the pages and the menu from english to finnish. But one piece is missing.

How do I make a translation of the homepage? And not only translating the sections text (i.e banner), but also make the rest of the content to be aggregated from the finnish pages?

So that when I click FI in the language chooser, it will load the homepage completely in finnish.

    Hello,

Thanks for choosing Vega, we appreciate it.

I would suggest using qTranslate for the home page options. We’re working on making the theme compatible with WPML and will have an update once that is done.

    Best regards,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick answer.
Could you please clarify, how exactly would one make a translation to, say Banner text in Customization options?

I would suggest you try the inline method as suggested here:

In-line syntax ‘[:en]English Text[:de]Deutsch[:]’ or ‘<!–:en–>English Text<!–:–><!–:de–>Deutsch<!–:–>’ for theme-custom fields gets them translated – See FAQ for more information.

    Thank you.

I did try that, but the banner text just displayed “English Text Deutch”…

Another question related to this topic.

The 4cols section seems to load an url of a translated page, but heading and excerpt of the ‘original’, ie the one I chose in the Customization settings.

So the result for, say, Finnish homepage is that heading and excerpt are in English, but the Read more-links take you to the Finnish versions of the page. Is that a bug or designed that way? ??

The theme has been tested with qTranslateX and all options work and display as expected in multiple languages ??

@lyrathemes I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the theme review team.
