I get site.com to not load content in nl but go to site.com/?lang=en all the time. Chrome shows a 302 redirect. I have turned on browser language recognition. If I use pre pad mode this issue remains. Prefer pre pad mode, but thought that Query Mode might work. But it did not and switching back to pre pad mode does not help either. Ideas how to avoid this redirect?

    @rhand,

nl (Nederlands) is your default language?

But it always shows the English page?

If so, delete cache and cookies to approach the site clean/

Deleted all cookies, added the latest beta and now I am using pre pad. Now all content is shown in different languages, but the en pages show the Dutch slug. Ideas? See https://goo.gl/cV05uG

    NB Yes NL is Default

    @rhand,
for the translation of slugs you need also qTranslate Slug

Reactivated qTranslate Slug. I guess the latest beta made all the difference. Slugs are translated now, but now home goes to home/en/ . Perhaps I need to add a slug for those two homepages as well? I thought home would not need one as it is the root of the domain…
Could be the url in the flag. Perphaps the url is off. Was handcoded..

If you do not enter slugs it would not be necessary, you are right about that.

Here it is correct yoursite.com is in Dutch.

    But there is another problem.
Changing on the home page to English also is correct.
But with other pages it goes wrong. Visiting in English a page and change the langugae to Dutch always brings you back to yoursite.com/en

Try using the language selector in the menu and see if that makes a difference

When I add the qTranslate flag to the menu it adds /nl/ for Dutch urls for going from /en/ (English version) to nl (Dutch version). NL or Nederlands is the main language so that element should not be added now should it be? Is there a way to fix this?

I see the chooser in the menu makes no difference.

Temporarily disable all other plugins (except qTranslate and qTranslate Slug) and see if it works then.

If so, enable them one at a time and see where it goes wrong

I have the following plugins and they do not seem to interfere:

    Admin Post Navigation
Versie: 1.9 | Door Scott Reilly | Details bekijken

    Antispam Bee
Versie: 2.6.6 | Door Sergej Müller | Details bekijken | PayPal | Flattr

    BackupBuddy
Versie: 5.2.0.0 | Door iThemes | Bezoek plugin site | Documentation | Support

    Contact Form 7
Versie: 4.1.2 | Door Takayuki Miyoshi | Details bekijken

    Newsletter
Versie: 3.7.7 | Door Stefano Lissa | Details bekijken

    Wordfence Security
Versie: 5.3.12 | Door Wordfence | Details bekijken

So perhaps it is a qTranslate X config issue?

Try it also with a default WP theme. See if that makes a difference

Perhaps it is similar to the language postfix issue mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/sitecomen-trailing-slash-missing?replies=18 ? Will try with another theme a little later on as well.

Delete all cookies and see if it works without qTranslate Slug

Just tried that and had the same issue with the /nl/ such as https://site.com/nl/over-kees/ (nl is added by switcher and redirects to same English language page) not going anywhere causing the Dutch pages not to load using the language swticher. Could be I need to test it all again as I may have missed something.
Looking for a quickers solution now if possible though. At least until we have this sorted. May test all on a staging server or local host a little later on. Questions. If I wanted to hardcode the widget to load the switcher in the header what would I add? Also what url would I need to load home nl or en?

For a switcher at any point see here

Can you make a test copy of your site and give us access?

Header shows a 302 using my own flag with full url site.com for going from nl site.com to site.com/en/ even though I wanted to go to site.com ..

    Remote Address:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80
    Request URL:https://site.com/
    Request Method:GET
    Status Code:302 Moved Temporarily
    Response Headers
    view source
    Connection:Keep-Alive
    Content-Encoding:gzip
    Content-Length:20
    Content-Type:text/html
    Date:Fri, 24 Apr 2015 14:26:12 GMT
    Keep-Alive:timeout=1, max=100
    Location:https://site.com/en/
    Server:Apache
    Vary:Accept-Encoding

I will set up a test site as soon as I can. Perhaps on Sunday instead of today and will let you know where its at. Thanks so far.

Also wondered if a certain permalinks structure is required. I have /%category%/%postname%/ now.
