Home URL for Translated Language

Where did you add /united-kingdom/?

I made a translation of my US homepage and it made a new page and used the Page name to make the child page like this?

Does it work now?

no i even deleted the translated home page for uk and started over, still same issue. I made a redirect from /uk/ to this child page but my boss wants it back to /uk

Coould it be something in .htaccess or config?

Your UK homepage does not be a child page of your EN homepage.
Edit your EN homepage then create your UK translation as it’s explained in the getting started by clicking on the + sign in the language switcher metabox.

I did that. I even deleted the UK home and tried again for the 3rd time.

Please provide a screen copy of your list pages where your homepages are visible.

Please provide a screen copy of your Polylang settings (Settings > Languages > Settings tab) and of the Reading Settings (Settings > Reading).
