home vs index

  • In The Template Selection Hierarchy of the codex says that WP get first the home.php and after the index.php. But I have just installed a new WorpPress 1.5.2 for another blog and when I go to my domain it appears the index.php, not the home.php that I set there. Why?

  • do you have a link? just to make sure you understand, the home.php is not accessed, as in xyz.com/home.php, but rather when you go to xyz.com, wordpress first looks for a home.php file within your template, otherwise it will use the index.php file.
