Home Widget Background Image stuck on default

  • I am just starting with this theme. The home page widget area background image is stuck on the default photo of the camera and the home page widget button does not display. Additionally, the information I enter in the Customizer for the widget button (text and URL) disappears each time I save and publish.

    I have tried removing the image but it still displays. I have tried changing the image to my own but the default camera image still displays. I suspect a database issue here. I could take care of this but I am more concerned that the widget button does not display.

    The text widget I added to the home widget area displays just fine.

    If this helps, I am seeing a very quick flash of something on the customizer interface when I first arrive at that page that says “Save failed.”

    I am running PHP 5.4 (updating from 5.3 did not fix)
    WP 4.2
    All of the recommended plugins except SEO. (disabling did not fix)

    Update: This morning’s update fixed the background image issue on the home page widget section – thank you. The Widget Button is still not appearing, however.

    The customizer error message is “Save failed. Word Count: 0. Just write.”

    This issue was born out of the recent WordPress update.

    We are currently fixing this issue and will send out an update ASAP.

    can i reduce the width of the home widget background image?

    The home widget background image is set to cover the entire space regardless of screen size. You could target the container #home-page-cta and edit the background properties with some custom CSS.
