I have an issue with the home page of a site, https://www.ivyjane.com, sometimes not displaying. The page will be all white on some devices and browsers.

Yet if someone types in another page on the site, https://www.ivyjane.com/about, the page and all of the other pages display correctly. Just not the home page.

But this is not happening on all devices or browsers. I think it seems to happen on browsers that have not visited the site for a while and have a older cached version of the home page, maybe.

It did happen to me using Chrome. I was logged into one gmail account and got the all white screen. This is an account I rarely use and probably have not visited the site while logged into it a long while. However while logged into another gmail account, the one I usually use with Chrome, the home page displayed correctly. For the account where the site displayed all white, I haven’t been logged into it to view the site in months.

The people at the office have no reported no problems viewing the site.

I recently changed themes, from Woo Sliding to Woo Canvas and I think it has to do with some older cached pages from the older theme. Maybe.

Anyone have any ideas what is causing the problem and how to fix it?

  • looks like a PHP fatal error. check out your error logs for hints on what’s causing this.

I think it may be solved. I reactivated the old theme and the home page loaded as it should. Then reactivated the new theme and the home page is loading as it should.

Still don’t know the reason for the issue in the first place, but it seems to be working now.

    Damned internet.
