Homepage images not showing on iPad

    Hi,

    The (two) images on my homepage do not appear when viewed on an iPad. They do both appear on desktop (in both Firefox and Chrome) and on my mobile. They also both appear when tablet view is used in Appearance/Customise within WordPress.

    The images are webp where permitted. I don’t believe that Safari on ipads supports webp but the images should then default to jpg/png. The various images on all other pages are appearing as expected.

    I’d welcome any ideas on what I may be doing wrong with these images to cause this.

    Hi there,

    Have you tried adding them as regular jpg/png images? Does it make them load?

    Hi Tom,

    When I first upload the images into WordPress they are in the regular jpg/png format. I then use ShortPixel to optimise the images and also to create webp versions.

    I just don’t understand why the images fail to show on the homepage but not on any other page or post that has images (also in webp format).

    I did mention the issue on the LiteSpeed Cache support page too as it is the LSC plugin that enables the images to be used in webp format. It was suggested there that it was some sort of caching issue as a result of my using the CloudFlare CDN. I’ve tinkered with the settings there and, for now at least :-), the images are appearing again.

    I’ll let you know if I manage to break it again ??

    Hi @richieps what exactly did you change ?

    iPads and iPhones are driving me CRAZY, sometimes images show then sometimes they do not.
    you mentioned settings in cloudflare ??

    Any pointers would help.
