I am building a website in WordPress 6.0 and I want to change the homepage. This should be done in Settings – Reading (choose static homepage). But I do not have this option there since the update to 6.0. I can’t find it in the other menu options. Can somebody help me please?

  • This setting should still be found at the location is also documented here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/settings-reading-screen/

If you don’t see it, it may be related to a plugin you are using or your theme. Maybe your theme offers this option only in the customizer. Check there, deactivate plugins if necessary or change the theme to find out what causes this change.

Thank you for your response. But I did not change anything in the theme or plugins. The option to change my homepage just disappeared. Do you have any other suggestions?

This does not have to be caused by something you did. It may also have happened due to an update of the theme or plugin responsible for it. Therefore, my advice is still to check exactly these.

Thanks again but nope, nothing worked. I de-activated the plugins, changed themes…. I still can’t set my homepage

Could you show a screenshot of the page please? Feel free to upload it here: https://imgur.com or wherever you want.

Exact same isue as @frmaarseveen . No way I can find this option anymore. Fresh install of wordpress 6.0 with Twenty Twenty-Two theme.

Actually it does work now by following @threadi advice to go in the “settings reading screen” and select “homepage as static page”.

The database was corrupted and because there were many errors, I started all over again. I now have a working website. Thenx all for replying.

I came across this issue and what caused it not to show for me was that I only had one page added but you need at least 2. One for the homepage and another for blog posts. Once I had two pages, I was able to set the homepage and blog post pages under Settings > Reading.

Thank you @davyirl321 for the right advise. had del and re-installed twice as there other quirks too..:-)

Here is the fix that worked for me.

You have a publish the page for it to be an option to make it a static home page.

Hi I am having the same issue. The option to select home page has simply vanished both in the customizer and under Settings>Reading. I am using Worpress 6.1.1, theme Astra and there are multiple pages – however I may have deleted the original theme/template home page. This was suggested as a possible bug in another thread.

I have version 6.2 WP, theme MoreNews. So my settings are at static home page at settings reader. But when i go to customize homepage settings it has switch. When i switch to static it changes the reader settings back. So they can’t both say static for some reason?

And i don’t have acces to my own home page. So not the one of the theme but the page that i made. It’s gone. Yet you can still acces the home page online. So their is some hide and seek going on here that i don’t understand? I’m new in building a website so for me this is magic.

Never mind, i fixed it ??
