A wordpress webpage of a friend of mine works perfectly. It has been made by an external professional. My friend doesn’t have the hosting server user/pwd, but has admin rights to maintain texts and pictures of every page except two: the homepages (one in each language the website is set up)

I suppose this is not an error, but made on purpose by the third party either to prevent hackers or duplication of the website for other uses. But I am not sure

Additionally there seems to be no way to access the “decoration” of any page (basically the header with 2 or 3 logos, and the menu buttons)

I would like to know if WordPress has an option for that (like : protect/hide homepage from being maintained to certain named users), or it sounds like a homepage purely generated by php on the fly, or maybe the homepage might be entirely managed by the theme.

    thanks

WordPress itself doesn’t have fine controls like that, but there are plugins which do.

Do you have access to the Plugins section of the blog’s Dashboard? If so, what plugins are installed?

Thanks, here you are the list of plugins we can see, using the username of my friend, there might be other hidden plugins, if WP allows that for higher ranked admins

    Advanced Custom Fields
    Akismet
    Contact Form 7
    Hello Dolly
WP Importer (the title was in Spanish, Importador de WP)
    WP-PRO-QUIZ
    WPML
    Yoast SEO

Ok, it sounds like the homepage may just be a PHP template in the theme itself.

At Settings -> Reading in your blog’s Dashboard, what do you have set for the front page to show?

It says Static Page, Front Page: “Home”, Post Page, none…

Maybe the front page is entirely in the php templates, where the other pages at least expose their text and pictures.

    thanks

Ok, the front page should be set to a page called Home then. Do you have a page called Home?

I assume so, and is there content in it? To the right of the editor when you edit it, is a particular template selected?

I was out of activity for personal reasons. Now I have retaken WP, although I can’t remember how this topic arose.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is everything fine with the site now?

Well, I really don’t know, because I abandoned that test project and started a new one fresh, 3 weeks ago…. Well, not fresh,… I am moving a html/css page to WP… I am using sass and singularity for css, and splitted the html into php pieces, trying to learn how WP works to build the page.

    Thanks for your interest.

Well, if you run into any problems with that, please let us know.

Sure, thanks, I am already posting some novice doubts!
