Homepage opens with future posts

    Hello, I’m testing a theme that uses a calendar in the home page. Since it’ll be an event based webpage, it shows up future posts too. However, the calendar on the home page opens with the upcoming months that have posts in them. But I want it to show the current month by default. How can I do it?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the code in the functions.php:
