Homepage Portfolio Suddenly Missing
-
A long time ago, I had set up my site so that the main page was a tile/grid gallery of thumbnails/featured images, each a link to a page on a specific project. A few months ago, it still worked, but when I happened to check, now the main page just showed a message that nothing was found. I assume the cause had something to do with automatic WordPress updating or plugins no longer working, but sadly I don’t remember how I had it set it up so before the problem so it is hard to troubleshoot.
I don’t think I set it up with the WP Portfolio because I don’t think that was quite possible when I first set things up, and I only have one item there, perhaps when I was trying it out. I think I had set it up that I could make Pages function as portfolio items, because that was where I had items I wanted to appear that way. But I don’t see how to make that happen again. And while I know I had set up images for each item to appear on the grid, no post/portfolio/page item shows any featured image set up.
I have “Portfolio Post Type” plugin activated, and I see it might not work with the current wordpress version, but I can’t tell if that’s what let set it up how I orginally did?
Is there a way to make Pages or Posts function like Portfolio Items? And appear as an image in a portfolio-like grid on the main page? I’d like to just get it back quickly close to the way it used to work a few months ago, at least for the time being, without having to create each thing as a portfolio item.
Thanks in advance!
