• After updating my website plugins and wordpress to v5.5 today it resulted in my primary header menu [hamburger icon] becoming unresponsive on mobile devices on the homepage. (It was working fine on desktop). The search function on the header menu also became unresponsive.
    The footer menu which includes a login box for members also became unresponsive on mobile devices.
    It also resulted in the homepage displaying incorrectly with the TG: Featured Category slider disappearing and the featured category images showing in a static column on desktop view. The TG: Highlighted Posts images are now showing slightly different sizes too.
    I have had to restore a backup of my website from yesterday to fix the issue for now, however the hamburger icon and search function on the homepage is still not working for some users on mobile devices.
    Please can someone help? Many Thanks!

    I’ve already tried this and it doesn’t work

    Hi @patty2
    We’ve tested your site on mobile devices and those seems to be working fine. So, I suggest that you ask the users on your site, who reported this issue to check once clearing the browser cache.

    Ok I will do that. Will it be ok to update the sites plugins and WordPress to version 5.5 now as I had to revert the website back yesterday?

    @patty2
    Yes, it should be okay to update.

    I have just updated to WP v5.5 and once again it has caused the header menu to become unresponsive on mobile and on desktop the images are all stacked instead of working as a slider. There seems to be an issue with ColorMag theme and v5.5 of WP

    Just to clarify I have cleared the browser cache and it is still causing these errors following the 5.5 update

    Hi @patty2
    I tried to replicate the scenario in my local environment and upon inspection I believe there’s a conflict due to some plugin. Try deactivating the plugin one by one until the issue is resolved. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles and once the plugin is identified you can contact them as there seems to be an issue in their js file.

    If the problem still persists, please contact us via our official site https://themegrill.com/ chat support so that we can further discuss it and provide you an appropriate solution.

    Hi @nidwija I think I’ve found the plugin causing a conflict (Easy Social Feed by Danish Ali Malik)

    Deactivating it seems to have rectified the main issues, thank you.

    The only other question I have is around my images showing on TG: Highlighted Posts as these all used to be the same size but now are showing different sizes. Is there anything I can do to get them aligned again please (this is on desktop view) Thank you

    @patty2
    You can go to Customize-> Widgets -> Front Page:Area besides slider and check on the option Show posts from a category and see if that helps with your issue else let me know!

    Hi @nidwija the size seems to constantly change depending on the featured image of the posts selected. It used to display them all the same uniformed size, has something changed or do I need to ensure all my feature images are a set size please? My slider is also jumping in size on one image when it loads too

    Hey @patty2

    You can upload the featured image after setting the size so it doesn’t create a problem and the same with the slider too. It also helps in the looks of your site so we recommend setting the image size.

    Best Regards,
    ThemeGrill.
