Homepage redirection to another WP site in another directory

  • Hi!

    How could i make a redirection from my website’s homepage (i’m working on it so it should not be visible to anybody) to another WP website (“coming soon website” with a specific theme) located in a sub-directory?

    Real site @work: puzzlecoworking.com
    Temp site (coming soon page) : puzzlecoworking.com/construction

    But i still need to work on the first website (root) and test the pages on the front end.

    My problem is that i’ve tested an htaccess redirection which works well but redirects EACH page of the root website to the second one and i either can’t preview those pages…. Weird…

    Maybe i must tell you that for the both websites i’ve activated the WP option “do not submit the website to search engines”.

    Any idea?

  • You could just install a “coming soon” plugin, and then creat that to suit what you are trying to do.

    This meaning you can still log in and view the full site when logged in, however people who are not logged in will only see the coming soon page

    Thanks for the tip but the theme i’ve found is exactely what i need and i spent some times to find it and customize it also…
