Homepage, setting Blog to a specific category

On twentyseventeen’s home page, I’d like the set the ‘blog‘ to a specific category. How can we do this without having to add a plugin?

The site we’re working on, has many categories. Selecting one of them vs. all posts, is perfect for us.
