Homepage Stuck Displaying Deleted Categories – Why?

    I just finished re-organizing my posts into newly created categories. I deleted the empty categories when I was finished.

    After all of this my homepage is now blank, and still is trying to display the now deleted (and empty) post categories.

    What is causing this, and how can I fix this?

    Does this happen using a default unedited theme with all plugins deactivated? This test will rule out a theme or plugin issue. Also check Admin dashboard>Settings>Reading.
