I have a site using the Divi theme, on my homepage the SEO Framework custom title won’t “take”. I have edited it on the page and in the settings page but no matter what I do I seem to be stuck with just the WordPress Site Title. Other pages are fine, I can use custom title no problem. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi @frankprendergast,

    Happy New Year! ??

Have you updated Divi last year? I believe they’ve fixed the title output a long time ago.

In any case, if you’re stuck with an older version, you might find that the Title Fix extension will work for you. Which is bundled with the Extension Manager:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/the-seo-framework-extension-manager/

If that still doesn’t work, then there might be some ID collisions, which we’ll follow up if necessary.

As always, I recommend keeping your website’s software up-to-date, as they’re (too often) prone to security issues.

Apologies – I didn’t get the email notification about your reply. Divi is up to date, and I have tried the Title Fix. I tried the plugin first and just now tried via the Extensions Manager. No joy.

But I think I just figured it out – under homepage settings previously I had Custom Home Page Title set but I didn’t see the need for Custom Home Page Title Tagline. Once I split the title into two parts and put the first part in the title and the second part in the tagline it worked.

It was not intuitive to me that I *had* to have both parts filled in for the title tag to be set.

    Is this expected behaviour?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @frankprendergast,

    Thanks for this! It’s a bug… ??

I’ve been able to reproduce it, and I’ve escalated it here:
    https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/252

I’m glad you’ve found a resolution in the meantime ?? Therefore, I’m marking this topic as resolved.

Disabling the “Add site description (tagline) to the Title on the Home Page?” option in the Additions tab also works as a (temporarily) solution.

I don’t know why I’m not getting notifications – I’m glad this was helpful. Thanks for the tip re the additions tab.

I love your plugin by the way.
