The contact form in the footer of this webpage is getting over run with spam. I can see the honey pot field in the code within the DIV “wpforms-field-hp”. It doesn’t seem to be doing it’s job at all. If I can identify it, maybe the robots can too. We would really like to avoid using a captcha when a honeypot SHOULD be adequate. Please advise.

This website uses a free account but we do recommend WP Forms Pro to all clients who need increased functionality and several have upgraded. If this feature does not function properly we may go in search of a new forms plugin as our agency go-to.

    Thank you.

    Hi @sarahrbcom,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re encountering spam.

The anti-spam honeypot works well for most cases. However if you find that you’re having still having spam we recommend that you set up reCAPTCHA, or other spam prevention options.

If you’d prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, we have a Custom Captcha addon with any of our paid license. This allows you to create text questions or add math problems that users are required to answer.

Alternatively, you can consider the following third-party plugins to protect your forms against spam:

WordPress Zero Spam: This plugin is simple to set up, and works right out of the box.

Spam protection, AntiSpam, FireWall by CleanTalk: This option requires registration, and offers more settings for customization. Just a head up — this is a premium plugin with yearly subscription plans, though it offers a 7 days free trial. Please see their site page for more details.

Just to note that we’ll not be able to provide support for third-party plugins.

    I hope this helps!
