Hook to create a new recurring event dynamically?

    Hi, I’m wondering if there’s a way to create a new set of recurring events outside of the Events admin section, via my functions.php file.

    I’m setting up a custom post type for employee profiles, and every time a profile is created, I’d like recurring events created for their birthday and work anniversary. Is this possible? If so, how would I accomplish this?

    If you could point me in the right direction on how to programmatically create a recurring event, I might be able to figure the rest out. Thanks!
