• Hey Dev, I previously open a support topic automatic-upload-and-download-not-working which have not received any support response yet. But this time, everything is hooked up at request translation stage.

I set my configuration to use automatic upload and download, but it does not work, ever since then everything stopped working. I reverted back to manual upload and download, and yet, nothing seems to be working again.

After publishing a post, page and or category, I went to it and click on upload which will work from indication, then I click on update translation, which from indication worked, then I clicked on request translation, and here, everything remain unchanged. I kept on clicking on request translation, but nothing seems to work from here.

    Please, what should I do?

    This issue is over.

Since I got no response from anyone, I took another step to see if my issue will be resolve.
I deactivated the plugins – polylang, lingotek, and loco translation, optimize my database to clean every transient data so to leave no trace of the plugins activities, I deleted all the posts, pages, categories, forums, topics and replies that were created by the plugins, now re-install the plugins, and things seems to be back to normal. But as for lingotek, I created another account, so to make sure that the previous account does not interfere by any means.

My fear now is that, I don’t know what went wrong, the site is about to go public, and if it go public, there will be not less than 100 authors on it, you can consider the traffic, what then if this issue rise again when the site is on peak with readers so anxious to read what is trending, but couldn’t.
How will I go the to delete and re-translate when posts might be counting in 100s – 1000s.

I wish to know what exactly might have been the cause.

    @lovecoinz,

Sorry for the slow response.I must have missed the notification about your first post.

I will investigate what may have been causing your issue to see if I can figure out what happened.

In the future there is an option that appears after you have uploaded content to Lingotek. This option is “Disassociate from Lingotek”. This basically breaks the connection of that content to Lingotek so you can try to re-upload and try to kick off the translation workflow again.

Please let us know again if you run into issues and I will do better at responding quickly!

    Gush!!!

This issue has just started again for no apparent reason again.

After I have resolved this issue for the first time by deactivating the plugins polylang, lingotek and loco translate, deleted them, clean my database, and reinstall them with a new and different lingotek account, now the issue is back again withing days.

After making some changes on my SEO plugin – AIOSEO, i went to translation —> management —> strings group, under there, I have three groups as follows,

    • all-in-one-seo-park
    • wordpress
    • widget

from the indication, all in one seo park and widget needed update of language, so I clicked on update translation status, and it present to me another option to upload translation, which I does, and it requires to update translation language again, then another option came up, which is request translation, I clicked on it, and it present another one update translation statusof I have been clicking on update translation status at this stage without any change to download translation. If I continue clicking on it, some times it will revert back to upload translation.

I also disassociated the string group to start afresh from upload, but still hooked up when it get to final update translation status before download.

In other to find what might have went wrong, I enabled wordpress debug and debug error log following wordpress debugging, but no error was found.

Please, what is actually happening. This issue also affects posts and pages and every other thing that needs to be translated through lingotek.

    1. How can I debug the plugin in other to found what could be the possible cause?
    2. Does lingotek have maximum number of words that can be associated to one account?
    3. If the above is yes, do I need to disassociate translated posts and pages in other to free space?
    4. If I disassociate a translated posts, pages etc, will the translated ones, still be serve to the language it is made to serve?

In addition, I clicked on the clock symbol and or the pen symbol, but when the page loaded, it prints just one thing that says,

User is not a member of the community

what could that be or mean?

I further inspect the url that throws the above error and discover that there is two email in it, one I use to create the lingotek account, and the other I used to login to my site, which are two different email.

The one I used to creat the lingotek accoutn is email from google, which is [email protected] and the one I used to login to my site is a custom email from my domain name, which is [email protected].

Whatever, this worked for the first time after linking my site with lingotek. But I don’t know much about it. I just discovered it now while looking for cause and solution to my problem.

I now added another user with the same email I used on lingotek to my site, and made him an admin, now that same link does not throw the above error again, but still yet, translation is not working. It still hooked up at the last update translation status before downloading translations.
    Some help is needed here.

    @lovecoinz,

I’m sorry this is happening again for you. I will investigate and see if I can reproduce. To help me do that would you be able to give me as much information as possible about the following things.

The content types you are trying to translate.

The languages you are trying to translate that content into.

What your Lingotek Default Settings page looks like.

What the Translation Profile associated with the content types you are trying to translate is.

What the name of your Community is under the Lingotek Account settings.

Anything else you may think is helpful.

I hope that we can get this resolved for you and that these issues won’t occur anymore.

    Hey @erichie

Thanks for your response. I delayed the response because I got a messae from lingotek that I have exhausted my free 100,000 free words translation, and for me to continue using the service, that I need to supply MS Azure API key, which I have done and now the issue is taking to another dimension.

Translation is now going as it suppose to when issued and instruction to upload and download, but the issue now is that, the downloaded posts and pages contents and titles are EMPTY. Which means that, the contents expected to be translated are no where to be found, but the original one is intact.

    Translation Settings
Default –> upload and download; automatic

Preferences —> Download translation status —> Same as source posts
    Auto upload statuses —> published
    Disassociation —> ticked
    Deleting content —> ticked

    And that’s all.

Same behavior for me : Most of the time (not always…), the result of my translation (title and content) is empty. ??
