Hooks or filters?

  • Hi! Nice work on the plugin, Brecht!

    I have a question for you: Are there any action hooks or filters available? Here’s why: I would like this feature in my bbPress forums to be available only to supporters of the site.

    In other words, I can test a user’s membership level, and if they aren’t high enough, I’d like to disable the URL preview functionality for that person. Basically turning off the functionality for that user. Without actually deactivating the plugin, of course.

    If you don’t know off the top of your head, then that’s fine! I will look through the code and see what I can do.

    There are a few hooks but I don’t think any relevant ones for what you’re looking for.

    You would want it not to show the VLP icon for some users then? Or how do you have things set up exactly?

    Hey @brechtvds I’m not actually seeing the VLP icon in the forums lol. In fact, don’t see the button anywhere on my site, front end or back.

    I just post a link and the preview shows up after the comment is submitted. Not trying to activate it while making a post – just works automatically.

    I just want to be able to turn that functionality OFF if a user has not subscribed as a supporter. In other words, bypass the work of VLP for basic members. Like by filtering the code by passing in a FALSE value. The preview functionality is an incentive to become a $10/year supporter.

    Are you sure it’s our plugin doing that? We don’t actually have a feature that automatically replaces a link.

    Can you give me a link to an example so I can confirm?
