• Just last week I resumed my blog on wordpress.com after I suspended it due to lack of time. I’ve been telling people this is how blogging should be, since composing the content takes little effort.

That certainly changed! I have spent several hours trying to write something pretty simple with a few links to other posts, snippets of code, etc. This would normally take me 15 minutes. So I spent another hour trying to find how to get back to the old editor. My text is so utterly messed up with dummy HTML that I better discard the text and start all over again.

Beggars can’t be choosers, and I actually was considering to change to a paid account. I am certainly not doing that now, as the experience clearly indicates a mismatch between the WordPress strategy and my expectations.

Browsing a few more pages of reviews, I think it’s pretty much 1:6 ratio between “great” and “disaster” so apparently there is a (small) subset of the bloggers looking for something like this.
It would be interesting to see whether that separation is obvious from the type of blogs being done.

I’m confused, you’re talking about WordPress.com but Gutenberg is part of the downloadable software version (called sometimes www.ads-software.com because it’s the home URL of that version).
