• These guys have no idea how to run a business or offer anything resembling customer service.

I paid the small fee for monthly support ($39) after the sidebar widgets for the site I designed disappeared on the product pages.

Their claim is that this is a Weaver II issue, and therefore, not their problem. I was also told ” the premium Support you signed up to does not guarantee to solve each & every issue.”

Their cart had similar problems with standard WordPress themes as well. When confronted with this I was advised to purchase their templates as those are the only themes with a guarantee to work.

Bare in mind that I already have a design, have client approval on the design and only needed to know what I was supposed to do in order to make the cart work. I never asked them to fix it, only to tell me how to get it done.

Will never, ever use this product, and am in fact thinking of moving the whole site to a different CMS even though I’ve used WordPress and Weaver Pro II for a couple of years now.

Horrible customer service. I want my money back.

To make it worse, in the past week I’ve been promised several times that they would provide a solution. That solution ended up being a free theme. The conditions were take it of leave it. I left it.

The theme would not be configurable to the design my clients had already approved. The people at Jigoshop refuse to accept that the problem was with their plugin, insisting it was everything else under the sun.

Too bad, because they could have had a good product here. Instead we are trying another shopping cart that admits Widgets are often a problem and provides several solutions for free.

    Hi there,
I think you’re confusing JigoWatt d.b.a. Jigoshop the company, and Jigoshop, the eCommerce plugin. The www.ads-software.com page is for the plugin, which is an open source plugin, not Jigoshop the company, which sells extensions for Jigoshop.

I did take a look into your JigoWatt ticket, because JigoWatt forwarded it to the developers of the open source plugin (myself included), and when the Weaver 2 Developer did say that it was Weaver, not Jigoshop being the problem:
“The message they gave makes perfect sense to me, fortunately. But, it also would mean significant development effort on my part to make Weaver II fully jigoshop compatible, and it is probably not going to happen.”

I’ve looked into the issue, and I’ve been unable to replicate it on 2012 or 2011.

Just thought I would point out, though, that your rating here is for the plugin, not the company which caused the problem.

Its like www.ads-software.com and WordPress.com. Related but definitely not the same.

No where in JigoShop’s website do they discuss having difficulties with other themes.

When premium customer support, which I had paid for, asked me to try a different theme, specifically 2010 which you do not mention in your post above, the similar problems occurred.

We were not able to get JigoShop to work on any theme, and the end solution of getting a client to accept a new design based on a JigoShop theme would not work. The client paid for a custom design, not something that everyone else using JigoShop uses. As well, we were not even given a choice of which theme we could use. There are several in $39 range, and I was given no choice about.

    You neglect to mention that.

You also neglect to post the solutions that the developers at Weaver developed in order to try to resolve the issue. Yes, they said that it would take considerable effort to make Weaver JigoShop compliant, but they also offered a detailed work around that should have, but did not work.

If you look at WooCommerce, they address the problem in a direct and forth right fashion and provide several solutions. Other shopping carts do the same.

My biggest problem was the lack of professionalism in which this issue was dealt with.

Jigoshop would just like to say that we strive to meet all customers needs and offer support where possible, I think chriscct7 addresses the point very well in stating that Weaver admitted it was their product causing the issue and therefore down to them to offer support and help in this instance.

Jigoshop works very well for thousands of happy customers and we take personal and confrontational complaints like this very seriously.

After looking into this particular issue it seems Jigoshop did prove our Plug In worked on numerous themes for you Mitch, we have detailed emails that contain screenshots of it working on 2012 and other themes and it was proved it was just the Weaver product stopping it working and we should not be held accountable for that.

Jigoshop have always maintained a professional manner and approach to everything we do, we’re confident the majority of our customers realise this and support us, we strive to deliver a free product that works with as many others as is humanly possible.

We’re sorry you feel aggrieved enough to post in this manner within a public forum, Jigoshop certainly would not want your company (Off Road Productions, Canada, ORP.CA) to feel let down by our free product in any way,

chriscct7 does however make a valid point, this forum is for the actual product Jigoshop, if you wish to discuss our company further please do feel free to email us directly on [email protected] and we’ll be only to happy to talk it through with you.

As my final word on this topic, under no circumstances was I able to get the product to work and retain the side bar widgets. That was the issue. And if you investigate it this is a common a problem with the JigoShop plug in.

When I gave customer support admin access to the site, they were not able to get the side bar widgets to work either. I have detailed emails with this as well.

They were eventually able to show that it could work using 2012 theme and their themes on their server, and only after they performed a completely clean install as well. This was all documented in the thread as well.

Yes, there was a problem with Weaver Theme in this instance, but we were not able to get sidebar widgets to work with any theme we tried. My client would not agree to a complete redesign of the website, and so the free theme solution offered by JigoShop would not have worked either.

As a side note, I’m not sure why the responder above decided to include a link to our corporate site in the response above. What is the point of this? This seems like a very personal attack, and I don’t understand it.

We’ve refunded you Mitch as per your request, I hope this is to your satisfaction.

Including your URL above is not a personal attack, it’s simply informing the readers of this forum who is making the comments, within your own comments you clearly identify Jigoshop as a business and as such set the precedent, forum readers are then free to make informed choices and opinions.

I’m glad this is the final word on the topic and wish you and your business well going forward.
