Hello @gudyo
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
We’ll certainly look into the matter, but it’s important to take Google’s PageSpeed Insights results with a grain of salt, especially in a complex WordPress environment. These tests can often produce false positives due to the variety of themes, plugins, and features each site employs, all of which can lead to varying outcomes.
Additionally, any plugin that uses JavaScript, particularly for features like PayPal’s Smart Buttons, will have some impact on performance. This is because our plugin relies on the PayPal JavaScript SDK. While this architecture ensures a secure and robust connection, it does come with some performance trade-offs.
If minimizing performance impact is a priority, you could consider disabling Smart Buttons. This would remove much of the JS dependency and could improve performance.
Feel free to share your PageSpeed Insights results with us, and we’ll analyze them to determine if they’re valid and provide recommendations. Regarding your concern about engineering support, I assure you that the plugin is actively maintained, but we do appreciate your perspective and will continue working to improve it.
Kind Regards,
Krystian
