Flickrpress plugin f’d up my site.
I was able to delete the plugin, but my site is still pulling it. How? I don’t know, and webhost said he can’t help.
Here is our edited chat (I’m Joe B). Can someone here make my pain go away? Thank you.
(23:19) [joe b] good evening
(23:20) [joe b] i’ve been getting ots of help the past 2 nights
(23:29) [joe b] i used to have flickerpress, but it caused major crash and i had to change a bunch of crap
(23:30) [Steven O.] I can understand that. I ran a yslow test on your domain at fantasyleaguegm.com and it looks like you’re making a lot of extra requests that may be slowing the site down.
(23:31) [Steven O.] Okay, so I ran the test on that domain, it’s got a page load time of 26.80s
(23:32) [joe b] yea – that sucks
(23:32) [Steven O.] This page will help you with that. https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.keeperleaguegm.com/AP9HuMJi
(23:32) [joe b] last week i had it humming
(23:32) [joe b] are all my rss feeds causing a problem
(23:32) [Steven O.] Things that I’m looking at is that you’re making a lot of http requests, and lots of external dns lookups… So what that means is that you’re relying on all of the other sites to be running quickly in order for it to load up.
(23:36) [joe b] those Specify image dimensions zero score is coming from flickr images
(23:37) [Steven O.] Each one of those things can cause problems, but once again you’re relying on an outside source to load content for your site.
(23:37) [joe b] yea
(23:38) [joe b] I no longer have this https://www.fantasyleaguegm.com/wp-content/plugins/flickrpress/flickr.js?ver=3.5.1 ——– why is it showigng up here: Defer parsing of JavaScript
(23:40) [joe b] i deleted flickrpress last night
(23:40) [Steven O.] Apparently it’s still being loaded on your site.
(23:40) [joe b] please remove it
(23:40) [joe b] it is the villian
(23:41) [Steven O.] I can’t remove it, it’s part of your site, you’ll have to find the portion of the script that is calling for it.
(23:42) [joe b] how do i do that?
(23:43) [Steven O.] That depends on your plugins, and your theme.
(23:45) [joe b] can you guide me in “editor”
(23:46) [Steven O.] Unfortunately I can’t.
(23:46) [joe b] what do i do?
(23:46) [joe b] i dont know what this means >>>> you’ll have to find the portion of the script that is calling for it.
(23:47) [Steven O.] You’ll have to look through your theme, or through your other plugins to find out what is calling for the plugin that you’re using, if you’re using a caching plugin then you may just have to disable that.
(23:48) [joe b] ok – bed time
(23:48) [joe b] i’ll give it a shot tomorrow
