    Hello,

I recently had a problem with a site and put in a support ticke with the host. They fixed it and this is their reply:

The SecFilter line in your htaccess was causing a 500 error – I’ve removed it (it’s not needed as we don’t run mod_security)

I don’t understand that. I have tried reading about mod_security but it didn’t help me. Too techie.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Martin

  • The mod security prevents scripts that run on your server from making certain changes. Disabling this will allow scripts to make changes to other files. Should you keep your software up to date, and rotate your passwords often, you shouldn’t have a problem.
