• After less than six months, my website host is pulling the plug.

What is the easiest way to save my site content so I can painlessly move it to a new provider?

    Thanks!

  • Use FTP to copy ALL files to your local PC, then use a database tool like phpmyadmin (most web hosts will have this installed) to do a backup/export of your database. Then you can re-upload these files to your new host, import the database dump and your site will be ready to go.

If your hosting company uses cPanel, you could have it a lot easier. Just get a new account on any other hosting comapny that uses cPanel, and ask them to migrate your site across to their servers. For the admins it’s a quick and easy job, and gives you a complete copy of your site, inclduing all of your settings for emails, etc.
