Host says 'too many connections to slideshare'???

  • Hi there,

    I am running a website with heavy traffic at the moment.
    My hosting company started to complain about it today, but said the problem is not the traffic butthe scripts and that too many database connections are not ‘closed’.

    What could he mean with this? They are very unclear about it and I have to wait two hours to be able to chat with them.
    Also, he said that there are many outgoing connections to ‘slideshare’. What is slideshare? I don’t have such a plug-in installed nor do I know what it is.

    I have changed themes to one of the lightest and fastest theme’s (an improved version of TwentyTwelve) and the website is only 200kb now and loads blazingly fast. Also, I’ve deleted all plug-ins except for Redirection / Yoast SEO / WP Statistics. I don’t think these are causing any problems.

    Anyone has any idea what might cause these outgoing connections that stay open? And how to remove slideshare, whatever it is, from my website?
