Host transfer – site not working

  • I am trying to migrate wordpress site from one host to another host (domain name and url are same – no change).

    I have 1. WordPress Files
    2. Database .sql file

    Procedure I have followed
    1. Created new database in new host and imported sql file
    2. Copies wordpress files new host
    3. Edited wp-config.php with new database name, username, password
    4. New host nameservers are pointed (verified too).

    New host: iPage

    I dont know where I am going wrong. It is been driving me crazy for the past 48 hours. I have read many forums and discussions on these topics but couldn’t get any solution. Site is not live for more than 48 hrs.

    New host: iPage
    site: ramcosa.in

    Though I do not have any technical knowledge, I know wordpress basics. Kindly help me before my head explodes

    It looks like the page is working now. Did you get this resolved? If not, what were you seeing that makes you think it’s not working correctly?

    Thanks for responding.
    Issue was
    1.in wp-config I did change db name, username, password but not host.
    I have changed the host name
    2.Plugins directory was renamed. Changed it back to plugins.

    Its working since then. But the issue is how to login to wordpress dashboard??
    usually we install wordpress from host where we get url, username, password. But while migrating I haven’t installed wordpress, its just a transfer of wordpress files. so I am wondering how to workaround with it?
    It would be helpful if you can suggest anything of your knowledge.

    Fixed.

    Go to host PhpMyAdmin > select database > select wp-users > In the data I have changed the password and username for admin.

    It worked.
