• Hey all,

I have this weird problem on our website.

Since today we just got an enourmous amount of spam in the comments.
We lost several orders and the money isn’t coming through in paypal.

I do not know if this is all related but this message i got from the hoster, but to be honest i have no idea where to look first:

    Hello,

This email is to inform you that we had to kill one
of your MySql queries because it had been running
for over 1 minute and it was impacting other users.

You don't need to do anything and you don't need
to reply to this message (although you can do if
    you like).

Note that you won't get any more notifications in case
we have to kill any more of your MySql queries unless you
click the "Mark this issue as resolved" button below.

The query that we killed was the following:

    Date/time: 2015-08-12 07:52:05 UTC
    Database: *******
    Server: *****
Query: SELECT option_name, option_value FROM wp_options WHERE autoload = 'yes'

This issue is between you and your shared hosting provider.

It really has nothing to do with the WordPress core.

Since you are running a commercial site, you may want to move from shared hosting to some better and reliable hosting account

    the hosting is reliable

I had this same problem in that my site would go into WP installation mode with too many queries per hour. My host said that my hourly mysql queries passed the limit of 75,000 putting my site into the installation mode until the queries reset at the hour again. The fix was the plugin Wordfence. I permanently blocked many spammers and it hasn’t happened since (knock on wood..) There are many setting in Wordfence to stop spamming and malicious attacks.

Also, I use Akismet and Word Press Zero Spam. I don’t get any spam comments.
