• I was recently informed by Hostgator that my hosting account was migrated to a new server. The frontend is working pretty good, but now the dashboard is taking over 30 seconds to load each page and sometimes even times-out.

I checked the console and I am getting a 404 error for the Admin CSS

    website.com/wp-content/plugins/__DIR__/admin-style.css?ver=3.5.1

I am also getting a error when I try to update plugins.
Download failed. Couldn’t resolve host ‘downloads.www.ads-software.com’

I already tried switching themes. Next I will try disabling plugins, but I got a hunch this is hosting issue.

I have seen php.ini and rlimit and common problems, any bets?

  • Hey Brian,

I too am experiencing the same problem. I am encountering the website.com/wp-content/plugins/__DIR__/admin-style.css?ver=3.5.1 issue. I just migrated a site to a Hostgator server and am now experiencing this issue. Works fine on my local copy and with the GoDaddy dev server.

Did you hear any updates about this?

Yes, they eventually got it working. It was a hosting issue. Hostgator is usually pretty quick to respond to problems. I think it ended up taking a couple hours before it was completely resolved.

Same problem here. Time to join everyone else in the mass-exodus from HostGator. They have completely botched this migration. Some people had weeks of downtime. They went from being the best host out there to complete destruction of their customer’s website in a matter of months.
