Hosting and upgrade of WP and plugins

I’m looking for a web-host, preferably UK based, that is reasonably priced but is set up so that users can use the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin, and the WP core plugin updater.

I’ve installed WP-based websites for numerous clients with such hosts as Easily, Easyspace, Purple Paw and others who are all fine but I’m unable to update WP or plugins without uploading directly via FTP. This is fine (if time-consuming) for me but makes it near impossible for clients to manage updates independently of me.
