Hosting Questions

  • Hi Everyone:

    My first question of probably many concerning WordPress. I currently manage a dozen or so WP sites on third party reseller hosting platform. After a lot of hiccups from a couple of hosting environments, I decided to host it myself. Im a System Admin and I have my own Data Center. Redundant Power, Redundant Internet Connection, temperature control, etc. The environment is there. Why not? Save more money.

    I looked at ServerPress.com but found no instance of someone using that program as a Live Production environment. I noticed that I can run WP MU and setup the hosting that way. However I don’t want all users have access to all sites. Plus, I don’t want one single database. I rather have them all separate due to security. My questions are:

    1. What is the best possible way to host WP sites separately? Or How to Do that?

    2. What is the best possible way to manage all of these sites? Or How to Do that?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Set up each site in it’s own home folder area. Consider each one to be a separate account, and keep them all separate.

    2. What is the best possible way to manage all of these sites? Or How to Do that?

    Log into each one and do updates and manage them.
