hot mess

  • This is just not compatible with Jetpack. If you have Jetpack module installed and are using the gallery features, mosaic etc. slick slider does not work as expected. Would have been great if I knew it was not compatible with Jetpack before wasting two hours trying to configure this carousel. Also short code options only seem to appear some of the time when inserted via the gallery model window check box options. Buggy mess!

    thank you for your feedback.

    I would like to respond to your review:

    1. Compatibility with Jetpack
      The plugin description states:

      Slick Slider turns your native WordPress galleries into beautiful fully responsive sliders.

      There is not a single mention of Jetpack. So you basically criticize this plugin for not having a feature it doesn’t even claim to have.

    2. Modal gallery bug
      You are right, there’s a bug that sometimes prevents the options in the gallery modal to show up. Why didn’t you post a Support Thread? As you can see I’m very hard trying to respond to every single question. By posting a thread, you would’ve learned that the development version already has a fix for this. Due to my spare free time I wasn’t able to publish a new version, because I’m planning to include other features like the latest version of Slick.

    I really hope you can follow me and maybe consider changing the review’s stars.

    thanks for your feedback and I apologize if modlook wasn’t appropriate.
    I used the flag because I noticed that @omd2 has only written one-star reviews yet (instead of threads) and all for gallery plugins. See https://www.ads-software.com/support/users/omd2/reviews/.

    That’s not suspicious, it’s just not particularly helpful.

    Just saying a plugin doesn’t work with something else does not help anyone.

    Jetpack compatibility is just one edge case, it would have more useful had the reviewer posted to get it sorted out in the support forums.
