• Hello, I am new to WordPress and not greatly familiar with .php…

I have a band website and I would like to add a small news/blog area and a gig calendar… I don’t want to have to build a template in wordpress… I’d like to just have an area call to a wordpress blog or whatever? The blog and gig calendar is already set up in wordpress. I’d like to have it appear in something like an iframe.

Is this possible and somewhat easy?

    Thanks!

  • let me see if I got your website structure right
    https://example.com/ – band website root? html/asp/php/etc ?
https://example.com/news/ – blog WP in directory
https://example.com/gigs/ – calendar WP in directory
And you want the blog and calendar to appear in different iframes of your website in root? Sure you can.

Well, it’s more that I want to take a pre-exisiting website and plug in a gig calendar.

I don’t want to build the site with wordpress or with templates.

I’m sorry, I don’t know much beyond HTML and some CSS. Don’t know much about SSI… Building the site with WordPress seems hard.

I have the website made, but want to easily plug in a calendar that is easy to update by putting in show info in word press.

P.S. I think I could just make a plain wordpress site… Then IFrame it to my website. But is that… Amateur? I’m trying to make a nice proffesional band site.
