I’ve added social icons to my footer trough a text widget. (Not trough the social media widget) Everything’s working fine, but I can’t figure out how to get a hover effect going. I’ve tried some CSS methods, but none of them seem to work. Any custom CSS tips? Thanking you in advance!

    Hi Hannah,

Sure, here you can see the work in progress: https://schrijfroos.nl

    hi sir
how to set first shop page link to second shop page link as soon as another pages in virtue theme

@romal: Can you please post your own thread instead? Your question isn’t even related to the OP’s question.

@catecake: You already have a hover effect where the icon appears to “pop” out from the page. It would be a bit more challenging to do something like changing the color of the icon because the icons are created via images. You’d probably have to do something like create a new set of colored icons that would be used for the hover effect.

    Hey,
Like @stephencottontail said, your using images, so changing the color isn’t an option like it is with the theme social links because those are a font not an image.

Ah okay, I understand, thanks. But I saw a few tutorials about hover effect code with an image split, so using two versions of the icon image so that it changes colour? Is that an option? I tried a few, but they didn’t work for me. Maybe I have to get someone who really knows his/her code to help me out there. It’s not directly related to the Virtue theme of course.

    Thanks everyone!

Yes you can create a sprite and have a hover effect that way. There are tons of tutorials online. This will require that you write some css and add to your custom css box in the theme options or use a child theme.
