How about removing links from the calendar?

Quick questions, I think! 1) can “get_calendar();” be used as a hook? and 2) where is the get_calendar() defined in the wp-includes files?

I’d like to try an strip links from the calendar function. I’ve managed to remove certain categories from being seen, but the calendar still displays links to them anyway. I thought I’d “play” and try to figure this one out, as I’ve seen requests for this before but no solution yet.
