How add a ‘Modern Lightbox’? to a [gallery]

I understand that you are using the classic page editor (deeply outdated) and most likely you are using the lightbox that is integrated into your theme. Then using SimpLy Lightbox is not a very good idea, since it will be difficult for you to manage the lightbox settings and most likely you will have a conflict between the plugin and the theme. In short, my plugin is maximally focused on the block editor (modern WordPress build).

Thanks, but you have conflated my 2 questions, I will try and phrase them better.

1. This is a question about your website/examples. You have a separate section called pro., so your two lightshows I assumed were NOT pro. What is the difference features between them. Are they both free?
2. Our site. We are an Arts Charity. We allow Artists to submit images of their work via a custom post (ie via the frontend, not via the backend/Admin). The images are ‘attached’ to the post. The custom post was designed (like the rest of the site) with the block editor, but included a shortcode [gallery] block – which automatically displays all images attached to the post. See the gallery codex.

We want to improve this gallery, by adding a light box. Some of your competitor plugins (Jetpack, Responsive lightbox… , Gallery lighbox, etc) automatically enhance galleries. Some with just a better gallery, and some add a lightbox. But so far the competitors lack at least one of the features you provide e.g thumbnails, captions, etc.

I don’t see the ‘automatic’ gallery enhancement feature in your plugin for attached images – can it?

If I add one of you blocks to a post, I am required to add images from the library. Then it works fine. Is there a way to avoid this need to add images manually, because they are already attached to the post.

In short – if my lightbox does not serve your galleries (created earlier) automatically after activating the plugin (and activating the lightbox on the lightbox settings page in the plugin menu), then it means that it does not suit you. If your authors’ posts are custom (have a special type), then my plugin will ignore them and will not work with them and the galleries on them.

I’m dissappointed, your plugin looks so good.

Does your plugin automatically enhance [gallery] galleries if they are on a normal post?

My plugin can serve a native WordPress gallery, but for this it is necessary that neither the theme or other plugins modify this gallery after creation.

I can not answer your question more specifically, since I have no idea what plugins you have installed on your site and what theme is used.

Hi GalleryCreator, Thank you for your help. Yes, I can try other plugins, but I’ve tried most and yours is easily the best. So I don’t want to give up trying to get it to work for us. But I understand that you cannot afford to spend too much time with one customer, when you have so many others.

1. You say “My plugin can serve a native WordPress gallery” Does this mean:
   a) It will enhance a wp Gallery block?
   b) It will enhance a [gallery] shortcode.
2. You say “If your… posts are custom then my plugin will ignore them?“
   Is there any way custom posts could be include (e.g. use of custom PHP).

Even if we cannot use them in this site, I will certainly try it on another project.. Thank you for providing such a good plugin.
