How add gallery as sub menu item

  • I’m in Menu — I see on left: pages, posts, custom link , categories.

    I don’t see galleries. I need to add a new gallery to the menu. Bit rusty, but stumped, how I did it before, thanks!

  • That’s because Galleries (ie default WordPress’ galleries) don’t have their own publicly-accessible destination or URL to link to.

    A gallery in WordPress is just a collection of images.

    You need to insert the gallery into a page (or post) to be able to see the gallery on your website.

    And you’d then link to the specific page (or post) that you inserted the gallery into in your menu.

    (If you’re using a gallery plugin that creates landing pages for its galleries, well, then that’s a different matter.)

    I don’t know George, this one seems to have galleries in there:

    Anyone know how to get the gallery offering in there?

    Using post image so not sure links working for this form could try again. This forum has no ability to add screenshots?

    So see, ok links good now. ONe had galleries just fine in there; other does not.

    No, thank goodness, it does not. The way to share images is as you have done with a link.

    Thanks Jan, why is no attachment ability good? Many forums have icon, click then upload the attachment. If not, I have to go another website, and the come back to this website
    Maybe good reason let me know!

    George, YEs, each has only 1 plug in– WP super cache, which I don’t think has anything to do with the issue. question.

    Ok turned out it was just one simple click “screen options” in upper right
