How are images selected when sharing

I have the same problem. At most times, the image is selected by the plugin is not the image of the sharing post. How can i fix this?

I recommend simple share button adder. Good working and light plugin.

The thing is i need this plugin to work properly because of its ability to place the share button anywhere i want (through shortcode).

Facebook picks up the image using the og:image meta tag in head. If it doesn’t find this tag then it itself picks up an appropriate image. Also it is possible there are multiple og:image tags and the image getting shared is one of them.

For now you could download a SEO plugin like Yoast that provides this option to set og:image. Please refer to below post
