I am making a new volunteer website and wanted something that users can “register” with the site to sign up for volunteer opportunities that will also track all their volunteer events and admin being able to see that. I thought Wired would give me that, but I can’t seem to figure out how… Would love the help!

    Thank you!

I’m happy to help @icsanantonio. I’d recommend checking out the FAQs at the bottom of https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wired-impact-volunteer-management/. Those should answer a lot of questions about how to get started.

In general though, volunteers are only tracked when they sign up for volunteer opportunities created through the plugin. There isn’t a way for volunteers to manually add volunteer time or modify their profiles directly.

Let me know what other questions you have and good luck getting started!

    Hello,

Thank you for the info. I don’t mind that volunteers can’t add time manually, but what is the process for the profiles? Is the login form the same WP meta login piece? How are the profiles created?

Sorry for the confusion @icsanantonio. There is no place in the system for the volunteers to access their own profiles. The way the plugin is currently built, only website users with the Administrator role can view those profiles.

Once a website visitor signs up for a volunteer opportunity on the site, a profile is automatically created for that volunteer.

If you haven’t tested out installing the plugin, creating a volunteer opportunity and signing up for one, I’d suggest going through that process. I think it will make everything a lot more clear.

I hope that’s helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.
