By default, the lite speed cache recommended TTL is about a week long, but activity purges such as new posts work really well.
My client uses “advanced ads” on the sidebar, and I noticed the widgets don’t seem to update right away. They placed a new ad on their sidebar and it did not show up (as expected) but now I’m wondering if it would truly take a week for it to update on the widget sidebar as opposed to a few hours?

I realize I can purge the cache, but I wanted to know if the widget sidebar is affected by the full TTL (one week). My client may not want to deal with the hassle, so in the future, should I lower the TTL so when they update the sidebar it will show sooner? additionally, how much will this affect my server strain changing the TTL from one week to say 2 hours?

Bonus question, I also have Cloudflare enabled and their TTL is 2 hours I believe. Is using Cloudflare in combination with Litespeed redundant?

Thank you for all your help.

    Hi,

By default CF TTL is for browser cache , that is something different from LitesSpeed Cache.

Yes, widget is effected by TTL as well ,If you are on LiteSpeed enterprise , then you can also enable ESI feature and make widget ESI block so it can have its own TTL or no-cache at all if you want.

    Best regards,
