How can I allow “other” answers without letting anyone see them in the results

Unfortunately approving other answers is not supported in the current version.

If you set “Allow other answers” to “Yes”, “Add other answers in answers list” to “No” and “Display other answers in results list” to “No”, these other answers will not be displayed in results. They will only be available to be seen in admin.

Okay thanks. Seems a bit confusing though. What’s the difference between “Add other answers in answers list” and “Display other answers in results list”?

“Add other answers in answers list” – when this is set to “Yes”, any “other answers” submitted will be automatically added to the list of answers available and other voters will be able to vote them as well.

“Display other answers in results list” – when this is set to “Yes”, any “other answers” submitted will only be displayed in the results. Other voters won’t be able to vote for these answers.

Okay, but if I set “Display other answers in results list” to “No”, shouldn’t that hide it in the results regardless of how “Add other answers in answers list” is set? That doesn’t seem to be the case.

If “Add other answers in answers list” is set to “Yes”, these answers will be added to the answers list as if you’ve added them.

This is why they will show up in results even if you set “Display other answers in results list” to “No”.

I just need a way to allow people to add other answers without everyone seeing them until I’ve had a chance to make sure they are good answers and then add them myself. I’m running a “favorite pizza” poll and if I allow people to add their own answers, I’ll get misspellings or answers that don’t qualify.

You can review submitted votes under View Results -> View Votes page.

Unfortunately this is not supported in the current version.
You would need to verify each vote and when finding a valid “other answer” manually add it to the list of available answers.
