How can I change font size or add space between letters?

I’m using the plugin as a shortcode:
[post_index post_type=”post” groupby=”firstletter”]
Is there a way to make the font size larger (if I use a <span> or <div> tag, nothing happens, if I use a <h2>-type tag, then the links have the same appearance as the text?
Also, since the primary use of my page is for a mobile kiosk, is there a way to add a space or two between each of the letters in the list?
